What Does It Matter vs Dust in the Wind

Many times I have heard, "What does it matter". It is usually followed by a plea exclaiming the futility of even trying or a statement of disregard.

In truth does anything really matter? Won't we all eventually be "Dust in the Wind"? What can anyone carry from this life to the next horizon?

Things matter because of choice. That is what distinguishes us as humans as well as individuals and defines our spirit. In the split second of making a choice one takes responsibility for all the following actions relating to the choice. From that point forward the one making the choice is defined. Not in a sense of what others may think or say but in one's spirit of existence. The relationship with one's self. The truth of your being.

Does it really matter?
